It's happy news time!

It's happy news time, everyone!

Happy news #1: My wonderful niece, Kaitlyn, loves kindergarten, gymnastics, and Star Wars. Life is good! She was delighted to hear (as was I!) that she will be a big sister in 2018. Her little sister Rebecca will be joining us in May!

Happy news #2: I have been quiet recently because my life right now is all about traveling and packing boxes. We're relocating thanks to a wonderful professional opportunity for my husband, and it just so happens that we're going to one of my favorite parts of the country! After a wonderful decade in NC, we'll be moving to Richmond, KY in the next few weeks, just outside of Lexington and not far from one of my very favorite places. We're very excited! Please excuse me if I'm slow to respond to anyone while we make this transition. There's a lot to do!

Wishing all of you, my friends, a fabulous 2018!

Ring Out the Old, Ring In the New!

Thanks to all of you for your friendship throughout this past year. Here's to making the new year a better one! Happy 2018!

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
For those that here we see no more,
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.

Ring out a slowly dying cause,
And ancient forms of party strife;
Ring in the nobler modes of life,
With sweeter manners, purer laws.

Ring out the want, the care, the sin,
The faithless coldness of the times;
Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes,
But ring the fuller minstrel in.

- Alfred Lord Tennyson, "Ring Out, Wild Bells"
