Oh, gosh, I loved that movie--I think I first saw it in college? I forget, but it made such an impression on me! The series they did later (I forget which channel) lacked the atmospheric dissonance that the movie had.

I love that movie too! "Atmospheric dissonance" is a perfect description.

Oh yay! You can't go wrong with the novel or the adaptations, whichever direction you go. Haunting stuff!
