Winter!
Winter is my favorite season, second only to autumn. And at last, it feels as if we're finally experiencing winter.
I have pictures from our home to illustrate...


And here is Virginia's enthusiastic response to the snow.

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show.

Yes, Virginia did romp. She even cavorted. Then she shivered, and looked at me as if to say, "What are we thinking, being out here when it's warm and snuggly inside?" And then she took off for the front door, with me sliding along in her tracks. LOL!
