Huge birthday hugs to [livejournal.com profile] melissagay, artist extraordinaire. (If you're not familiar with her wonderful art, check out her official website.) I hope you have a magical day, Melissa, and an enchanted year to come!

* Night Shade Books is having another super sale. Until midnight on Sunday, July 29th, Night Shade Books is offering 50% off all in-stock and forthcoming titles. To get the discount, use the coupon code NSB0750, and order at least four books.

* For those of you in the Harry Potter mood, I suggest checking out [livejournal.com profile] hogwartspro this week for some thought-provoking posts and essays. Especially fun is "Ten Lessons I Learned from Albus Dumbledore" by Beth Priest.

* Now, from PotterParties.com, here are party recipes to help celebrate the debut of Deathly Hallows. Pumpkin pasties, anyone? (Seriously. They sound good!)

Can't go to a midnight Potter parties myself as I'm one of the Postal Service employees who will be delivering the tomes for those who pre-ordered online and therefore will need some sleep.

Thank you dear Eldrichhobbit for sharing the "Ten Lessons I Learned from Albus Dumbledore". That was an accurate essay about a great man, written by someone who seems to know Albus in person ;o))

Could be helpful for Mr Gambon. Does anyone know his email-adress? *gg*

::blush:: Thanks for the plug, and thank you so much for your wonderful birthday wishes! I have indeed been having a great day, and I can indeed count it as magical, since the Black Dragon has not been spitting very much acid today at all. (He is, in fact, using a funnel to pretend to play "Pennsylvania 65000" on the saxophone.) =)

Ugh, apparently there are Deadly Hallows spoilers everywhere and a complete version of the text out there lurking. I've cut myself off from the rest of the world to avoid the taint, but I'm terrified of showing up at B&N at midnight...what if some jerk blurts out the ending, or the guy in front of me in line skips to the last page and says something??? What are your plans for getting the last book?

Yes she is! :) Thanks so much for checking out her website. I'm extremely excited that one of her paintings will be the cover art for the new C.S. Lewis book I've edited! It's absolutely gorgeous.

Aw! :( Well, since you're performing such an important duty, by bringing the books to all near and far, I think you're an honorary midnight attendee. Happy delivering!

LOL! It's a scary temptation, isn't it? But it's such a good deal!

I love your icon, by the way.

You're most welcome! I thought it was very perceptive and well done, and I'm glad you liked it, too.

Could be helpful for Mr Gambon. Does anyone know his email-adress? *gg*

Ha! Excellent point. Quick, get that man a copy! ;)

Give the Black Dragon a hug for me, too. ;)

I know - the spoiler fiends have been working overtime lately. I don't so much mind being spoiled once I have the book in hand, because I plan to devour it anyway (plus, I can always use the book as a weapon and take out my frustration on the jerk), but days or weeks before is just horrible.

I'll be attending the Midnight Magic party at our local Barnes & Noble. There are four parties in Hickory - the library, Wal-Mart, Waldenbooks, and B&N - and B&N looked like the place with the most activities. Plus, it has a Starbucks in it, so that works for me. I think I'll dress up as a Hogwarts student. We'll see. How about you?

Got to love the unspeakable vault of doom

And yeah, it's very good. Oh well, I didn't need food this week ;)
