Hello, my friends! It's a very hectic time of the semester, so please excuse the fact I'm a bit quiet at the moment.


I do have some news to share:

* My forthcoming biography of Tecumseh, which will be available from Greenwood Press in Spring 2008, now has cover art!

* I will be interviewed on Woodland Star Net Radio (which is accessible via computer) on January 6, 2008 at 6:55pm EST. I will be interviewed for approximately 40 minutes about my work, especially (but not exclusively) regarding J.R.R. Tolkien.


But wait, there's more!

* MTV has released has released its list of the Top Ten Wizard Rock Bands of 2007. I suppose it is rather scary that I have music by eight of these bands on my iPod.

* The results of the Tenth Annual Mutant Awards are now online. Feel the love!

Thank you so much! I'm really thrilled with it. It's hard to see, because the picture's so small, but they highlighted the gold on his medal and epaulets and matched that to the subtitle. I thought it was really nicely done. I appreciate your kind words!

Oh, this is all such wonderful news!! Especially the part about the Tecumseh biography; I'm so pleased and thrumming with excitement for you that it's going to be published this spring, and already has cover art. I'm really looking forward to getting it and adding it to my Professor Eldritchhobbit section of texts in my bookcase. Speaking of, I think that over the next couple of months I'll take out all of the books in which you've had an authorial element and actually make sure that I've read them- including the Presidents from Hayes Through McKinley. They're pressed tightly next to my fandom and Tolkien sections, which I felt you would approve.

In all seriousness, this is tremendous, and I know you must feel both a sense of relief and also of heartening in having the opportunity to write about Tecumseh as a person. Thanks also for the heads up about the interviews-- I'll put them in my calendar so that I can tune in at the appropriate times.

And to think that once there was a time when you had free time to meet for coffee!! ;)
