updates aplenty
Feb. 6th, 2006 11:25 amI'm back! Thanks to all of you who wished me well on my trip.
A few quick notes for now:
Birthdays
* First, per J.K. Rowling's website, happy birthday today to Arthur Weasley. I like to show love for one of my favorite Harry Potter characters.
* In less fictional news, happy belated birthday to
mayree, who had a birthday while I was gone. I hope it was fabulous!
Other News
* Neil Gaiman's website and Valancourt Books' website have been redesigned. Both are worth a careful look.
* The annual Locus Poll is now open. You do not need to subscribe to Locus to participate.
* I'm happy to see how well Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest is doing after its very first year. It made a strong showing in the recent Preditors and Editors Poll, and it's getting excellent attention from Locus. The staff has landed interviews with some of my favorite authors, as well; for example, M.M. Buckner and Mary Doria Russell have been interviewed, Issue #5 will include an interview with Neil Gaiman, and Issue #6 will include an interview with Kage Baker. Issue #4, with my article "The New Shoggoth Chic: Why H.P. Lovecraft Now?," is still on sale.
Now back to catching up with, well, everything...
