eldritchhobbit: (Books and coffee)

* I've taken the plunge: I now have an author's page on Goodreads. If you're on Goodreads, or if you're thinking about joining, please stop by and visit!

* I thoroughly enjoyed "Dystopian February" at Presenting Lenore's blog (syndicated as [livejournal.com profile] presentinlenore). Lenore has just announced that Dystopian August is coming! I'll be looking forward to it.

* Happy birthday to the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] fungus_files!

While reading Rain Is Not My Indian Name, I came across a quote that's much too good not to share:

"At school, the subject of Native Americans pretty much comes up just around Turkey Day, like those cardboard cutouts of the Pilgrims and the pumpkins and the squash taped to the windows at McDonald's. And the so-called Indians always look like bogeymen on the prairie, windblown cover boys selling paperback romances, or baby-faced refugees from the world of Precious Moments. I usually get through it by reading sci-fi fanzines behind my textbooks until we move on to Kwanzaa."
