Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and Sherlock

This year's Harry Potter Fest at Lenoir-Rhyne University will be a day-long event on Friday, October 28, including live quidditch matches, wizard rock concerts, costume contests, and more. It's free and open to the public; if you're in the area, I hope you'll join us! (My pictures from last year are here.) I'm already planning a new costume for this year...

In related news, I'll be teaching my "Enduring Questions: Harry Potter and His Predecessors" seminar as an undergraduate/graduate cross-listed course this Fall. The response thus far has been exceptional!

Now you're giving me Sherlock cravings, and I can't satisfy them! I bought Series 1 on Blu-ray ... and then my only Blu-ray player (on my laptop) became inoperable (apparently Sony did not enable the Vaio Blu-ray player to operate with Windows7, only Vista - bah!). So I'm currently stuck in a limbo! *whimper - sob*

I'm so looking forward to the next Series.... "The Hounds of Baskerville"!! Yeah.
