I'm back from a fantastic time at the Duke University symposium. Thanks to everyone involved! I'm grateful for the wonderful attendance at and reception of my presentation, and for the terrific conversations and talks I enjoyed.
In other news, my unabridged narration of Peter Crowther's moving story "Jewels in the Dust" is now available on the latest episode of the Tales to Terrify podcast.
I love this Doctor Who 50th anniversary trailer, "The Tale of a Madman in a Box." The sense of history it captures gives me chills.

Date: 2012-04-25 03:35 pm (UTC)First, Mutant Reviewers From Hell is doing a Reading at Knifepoint feature on The Hunger Games. Part 1 is up, with the rest likely to be posted sometime in the future.
Personally I suspect you won't care for this next one, but you might appreciate the perversity of the premise and it may interest others who pop by here. It's a new series called Nyarko-san, which is about a guy whose girlfriend is Nyarlathotep. There are some entertaining articles by one Jason Thompson (who among other things illustrated a comic book adaptation of Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath) to educate anime fans on the background material, explaining the Cthulhu Mythos, telling them who Nyarlathotep and Cthugha are, and background cameos in the series by Lovecraft and Derleth.

Date: 2012-04-29 04:44 pm (UTC)Isn't it crazy that The Death of Grass is hard to get in the USA? It's quite cheap to get a new copy if you go through, for example, Amazon UK (but of course you have to pay shipping from there). I've found that the used version of No Blade of Grass, the US title, is a bit more reasonable, price-wise, but a new copy of The Death of Grass from the UK is still less expensive.

Date: 2012-04-29 04:47 pm (UTC)I haven't given up hope; it wasn't that long ago that I spoke at UCLA. Maybe I do that again one of these days. Goodness knows I'd love to see you in "your neck of the woods"! It's so kind of you to say you'd be interested. *hugs*
