BTW, saw Cumberbatch as the Creature last night. OMG, I didn't know he could act like that. It was incredible. Still deciding whether to return for Miller as the Creature and C. as VF. Any words of wisdom? The whole thing was so incredible!!! I did a lot of wow-ing.

I always wanted a big house in the woods like that one, especially the kind with a wraparound porch.

But now I've seen so many movies and TV shows that my mindset on them is that BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN THERE. Because they always do.

Honestly, if someone bought one for me and gave it to me, I don't think I could live in it. The stereotype is that bad. And I don't even watch real horror movies or anything!

Isn't Frankenstein fantastic? I'm so glad you saw it!

I have a post here with my reviews of both versions of the play, as well as my review of the play as performed compared to the play as published. The upshot is that, while I definitely preferred Cumberbatch as the Creature and Miller as Victor, I heartily recommend seeing both versions of the play.

I was so very, very thrilled that Nick Dear really got what Mary Shelley was saying and restored both her original message and the Creature's voice. SO. MUCH. LOVE!!! :D

Ha! Before we moved here to the foothills, we lived in a house we built on 20 (mostly wooded) acres in Tennessee, and I have to say, I loved it. Then again, spooky is kind of a selling point for me! (LOL!) But there was a gnarled old tree that had odd, twisted branches that totally reminded one of our colleagues of the figures in the trees in The Blair Witch Project, and it freaked her out quite badly. She was genuinely spooked.
