Hello everyone! Please forgive my recent silence; I've been battling pending deadlines and a respiratory infection. I am off to a colloquium (again in California) on frontier literature. Welcome back! How was the thing?

It was great, thanks! The topic was liberty and responsibility on the frontier. We had great readings by economists, historians, and literary figures... but of course I managed to work in Firefly and Serenity nonetheless. The best part was how many people's eyes lit up and heads nodded when I mentioned them!
