Ishmael is one of my guilty-pleasure faves; it's like reading Mary-Sue crossover fanfic, it hits so many cliched tropes that it's ridiculous, and I love it ANYWAY.

*cackles* This sums it up perfectly! Its multiverse-ness is something that could never happen today, I'd imagine, thanks to all the copyright holders involved and permissions needed. It represents a blissfully "under the radar" moment in time, and it's crazy.
