I'm back!

Just barely - the winter weather has been following me across the country.

* I had a lovely time making my presentations (six in all). The Tulsa World ran a short story about one of my appearances ("Harry subject") here.












* Congratulations to the fabulous melissagay, who the People's Choice Art Show Award at Chattacon for the second year in a row!

* It's official! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will debut on July 21, 2007!

* And, for those of you who don't know how you'll last that long without a Potterverse fix, there's now the 2007 Wizard Rock EP of the Month Club.

I hope to catch up with everyone very soon. My best to all of you.

Thanks so much for your kind congratulations! The art show was really great this year, so it was all the more humbling to win the big trophy. It was for the "Aslan Sings" painting I did for Rising Image Productions, so at least you've seen it in person! :)

We missed you at Chattacon, and I thought of you at the BPAL event, since two of the participants brought some warm, delicious food-scent-y fragrances which made me think of you. (I think I've found my perfect fragrance, btw-- Black Hellebore. It's the dark floral of my dreams!)

I am SO excited that it was "Aslan Sings" that won the big trophy. It's such an awesome (in every meaning of the word) work. You totally captured the feeling of watching "deep magic" in action.

I'm so glad you like it! I reread Gassett's Revolt of the Masses on the planes to/from Oklahoma, and I'd forgotten how completely highlight-able his prose is. Every sentence is quote-worthy. What an amazing mind.

Thanks so much! It really was incredibly rewarding. I was amazed at the turnout - there were about 300 people at the talk/book signing that was open to the community - and I was able to see old friends and former teachers and my family, as well.

Thanks! That Tulsa World picture scares me a bit - it looks like I'm getting ready to swallow the camera! Someone took the concept of "close up" rather seriously. But the presentations went well, and about 300 people from the community attended the evening talk/book signing. I also had copies of your flyer available, so hopefully others will visit your website and Amazon, as well. *fingers crossed* Have you noticed any increase in sales since Apex came out? I hope so. When do you guys move? I'm wishing you the best.

Oh yay, pictures!! You look positively glowing, m'dear! :) Wish I could be hanging out with you and other folks when the last HP comes out, but perhaps I can spearhead my own gathering here. I've also discovered a couple of Tolkien fans, mostly by license plates: one is MITHRIL (don't know who drives it) and another is someone in library administration with a play on Shadowfax. Almost enough to start a group... but I don't know that I have the heart to do so.

It's probably for the best that I've not yet succumbed to any BPAL madness, though I'm sure it's only a matter of time. ;)

I highly recommend surfing BPAL's website, even if you don't plan to succumb. Half the fun is in reading the descriptions and inspirations.
