Happy Monday! I have links to share:

* Here are two great posts from my colleague Michael Drout re: Tolkien's Children of Húrin:
Part 1: Children of Húrin or, Tolkien: The Scholars and the Critics
Part 2: How to Critique Tolkien's Prose Style

* This month's Asimov's Science Fiction includes an excellent review of online Heinlein sources and resources: "On the Net: RAH."

* One of my favorite television series, Hustle, returns this Wednesday for a new season on AMC: read a new article about it.

* Winners of year's British Science Fiction Association Awards, announced at Contemplation/ Eastercon, are novel End of the World Blues by Jon Courtenay Grimwood, short fiction "The Djinn's Wife" by Ian McDonald, and artwork Angelbot (cover of Time Pieces, ed. by Ian Whates) by Fangorn.

* Nominees for this year's Rhysling Awards, presented by The Science Fiction Poetry Association for best sf/fantasy/horror poetry of 2006, include poems by Ursula K. Le Guin, Gregory Benford, Bruce Boston, Robert Frazier, Joe Haldeman, Lawrence Schimel, and many others. Winners will be announced Saturday, July 7, at Readercon in Burlington, MA.

ooh, wow, didn't know you guys were colleagues, or that he had a blog (I love his essay on Tolkien's style)--I zipped over, signed up, and commented, because I'm using Tolkien in my Stylistics class this summer! *happy bounces* (didn't use this name of course!)

Wonderful! We're not at the same university, but Mike and I have done a number of panels together, and we've been co-guests at several conventions together, as well. He's a great speaker as well as an excellent scholar. I'm so glad this is useful!

Hello! I'm just popping by...I have a friend (Hapenfro) who told me that if I were to contact you, you could direct me to some music that is LOTR or HP related. I hope not to bother you, but I was curious and am having a hard time finding any. If you can help, that would be great though!
