Hello again, everyone! We made it to North Carolina, and we're busily unpacking. Thanks to everyone for the good wishes on the move.

A couple of quick notes:

* I am quoted in today's Orlando Sentinel article "Can Hurin knock Harry off his broom? The genius behind 'Lord of the Rings' has a best-seller from beyond the grave."

* You were all most kind and patient about the pictures of the house when we first saw it, so now that we're here I've uploaded some new pictures of the house, walking trails, and neighborhood.

Here's a favorite I took from the walking trail next to our new home:

P5270069

* I also put some more pictures on Flickr, including pictures of Virginia, the world's most beautiful Boston terrier, and photos I took before leaving Lebanon, Tennessee, of the historic Cedar Grove cemetery and a private cemetery on Franklin Road, as well as the historic marker at Buchanan's Station in Nashville, which is relevant to my work on Tecumseh. My pictures from my trip to Iceland are also available there.

I look forward to catching up with everyone shortly.

It's so good to find someone else who likes old graveyards! I find them - and the artwork in them - fascinating.

Thanks a million for the kind words about my pictures of Virginia! :) You absolutely made my day. I think it's impossible for her to take a bad photo - but, then again, I'm rather biased! Ha.

She's very happy in the new place, now that our furniture is here. She started getting freaked back at our former home, when most of the furniture was packed, and when we arrived here, in an equally empty place, she was no happier. Then the furniture arrived, and we surrounded her with familiar things that looked and smelled and felt like home, and she immediately calmed down and started ruling the roost just like usual! Now she acts as if we've always been here.

And she loves the walking trails!

yay for quotage! "Tolkien has still got game."

LOL! I didn't know whether to cringe or laugh when I saw that quote, so I decided to laugh. Thanks for the kind words.

Much love right back at you!
