A New Hope for Space
Sep. 29th, 2004 10:35 amHats off to the Tier One Project, the world's first privately funded manned space program, which includes SpaceShipOne and carrier aircraft White Knight.
A new era is born.
Quote of the day:
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of ...
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

I owe you an email, my friend- will do that post-haste. Don't worry about the coffee thing; we'll get together sometime before Thanksgiving, right?!

Homer Simpson in space?
Date: 2004-09-29 02:57 pm (UTC)I look forward to humankind reaching the stars too, but worry what level of commercialization it will require to make accessible to us all. It wont be long before you see in lights on the face of the moon "this view brought to youMcDonalds"
