Happy birthday to my friend
vaklam! I hope you have a fantastic birthday and a wonderful year to come.
This week is Banned Books Week. Learn more here.
I've uploaded new pictures from the last few days. Here are a few of my favorites.
The sun rising during our morning walk:

The lake we pass on our morning walks:

The full moon through the trees:

Virginia on the porch:

Tomorrow I will begin my month-long "daily spooky post" routine for the celebration of my favorite month, October. I have enjoyed planning out all of my posts, and I hope you will find them fun! Until then, take care and have a great day.
Then summer fades and passes and October comes. We'll smell smoke then, and feel an unexpected sharpness, a thrill of nervousness, swift elation, a sense of sadness and departure.

Date: 2007-09-30 06:46 pm (UTC)Thanks for the kind words about the pictures! Virginia's definitely made this place her own. She wasn't quite sure what to make of the wild turkeys that run by here every few days, but I think she's just about decided that nothing that silly can be real, so she'll just ignore them until they go away. :)

Date: 2007-09-30 06:56 pm (UTC)Thanks for asking - I am at last feeling better. I was pretty much off of solid food through Friday, but then I woke up and felt remarkably better, and I still do. Thank heavens! I appreciate your good thoughts. I'm sorry I haven't been around quite as much: I'm on the downhill run with Tecumseh now. I've been loving your gorgeous posts.

I hope it stays nice and cool there, too. Whenever I think of you, I imagine sweater weather, because that's what feels like Kristi to me. :)
