A quick "PS" to my last post: The Charlotte Observer ran a short article about me today. It is here.

"Because aside from the occasional X-Wing for you to plug into, there's just no electricity on Dagobah." (on Yoda)

Congrats on the article, Amy. :) I have to visit your website again and choose something from your listing to add to my TBR pile. Any suggestions? :) Every time I see Ms. Virginia of the Shire, I must smile. She is too cute. hehe

Take care!

You are so kind! Thanks for your encouragement and support, Louise! A number of my articles are online (linked from my website), so you don't have to invest in a book for those. ;) Of my book projects, I am particularly proud of restoring The Magic Ring and The Magic Goblet, both of which are remarkable novels, and of my forthcoming Tecumseh: A Biography, which I hope will be readable and enjoyable for interested non-specialist readers: he was an amazing man who left a powerful legacy that is still relevant today.

*Hugs* and thanks!
Amy

I am intrigued by all the books you mention, and thank you very much for reminding me about the articles, too. :) I must check them out! I am sure I have read some in Apex, too, am I right? I have a terrible memory, so you'll have to forgive me there. lol I will definitely invest in a book, too, though. I am too intrigued not to. I think I'll try the "Tecumseh: A Biography" first. When I was in Anthro in college, we read a book on the (pardon me if I spell it incorrect) Kitsukalum native bands who I believe still live near Terrace, BC. I really enjoy native culture and history, so I might depart from the usual fantasy for my first full length Amy Sturgis read, and then I shall save the restored tomes for later. Congrats to you, I think you do some wonderful projects! :)

Take care!

Thank you so much, Louise! :) I really appreciate your encouragement. You're quite right about Apex: I had an article in the Winter 2006 issue ("'Strange and Fearful Imaginations': Rediscovering the Terror of Baron de la Motte Fouqué") and in the Winter 2005 issue ("The New Shoggoth Chic: Why H.P. Lovecraft Now?"). I also have an essay coming out in one of their soon-to-be announced anthologies soon. :)

Your anthropology class sounds like it was wonderful. I wish I'd been sitting in! I somehow missed out on anthropology as an undergrad (???), so I had a lot to make up for in graduate school!
