Awww, c'mon, I love C3PO. His annoyingness is part of his charm. Jar Jar really had no charm to speak of so the annoyingness didn't have anything worthwhile to latch onto. I did manage to feel badly for him when he was manipulated into voting badly on Naboo's behalf, but just barely.

I agree completely; C3PO does not deserve to be on the list. I love how he looks out for R2 even when he doesn't need it (and then pesters him constantly at the same time). Remember how he offered his own parts if they would save R2 after the destruction of the first Death Star? Awwww!

While not having seen either of those Bond flicks, this J.W. Pepper does sound as if he could equal Jar-Jar in annoyingness.

From what I've read of it, Dollhouse has great suckage potential and without network interference being a factor. Part of me hopes it gets a decent time slot and promotion but still flop anyway.

Personally I think Dune may have been better served as a stand alone novel. I read God Emperor of Dune exactly once and my brain has locked out most of the memories of reading it. The only thing I can particularly recall is that it primarily consisted of Leto being a pompous bore.

I'm one of those people who loved all the original Dune books, even Chapterhouse. For almost a decade, I reread them all each year. But I gather the books that followed Dune are the kind of thing you either love or hate. Now those new spinoffs are a totally different matter... I don't even want to be in the same room with one of those. Ack!

I agree. And I enjoy his buddy relationship with Artoo, driving him crazy and insulting him one minute, and then looking out for him and worrying over him the next. A very appropriate character - unlike Jar-Jar!
