Happy Birthday, and thanks for all the fish

Today is the birthday of the late, great Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and its sequels, undoubtedly a hoopy frood who knew where his towel was.

In his honor, one of my favorite Adams quotes, an exchange between Slartibartfast and Arthur:

"In this replacement Earth we're building they've given me Africa to do and of course I'm doing it with all fjords again because I happen to like them, and I'm old fashioned enough to think that they give a lovely baroque feel to a continent. A whle back I read the first four Hitchhikers books for the first time in rapid succesion. I think the line that tipped me off that they were special was the one about how the vogon spaceships hung in the air "Very much the same way that bricks don't." I am reading Dirk gentleys holistic detective agency.

THe first time I encountered Douglas adams name it was in a get fuzzy memorial comic to him. I didn't get it then.
