In honor of my favorite month, October, and my favorite holiday, Halloween, a few words from the master, H.P. Lovecraft.

Quotes for the day:

"I now felt gnawing at my vitals that dark terror which will never leave me till I, too, am at rest; 'accidentally' or otherwise."
-from "The Call of Cthulhu"

"It is a mistake to fancy that horror is associated inextricably with darkness, silence, and solitude. I found it in the glare of mid-afternoon, in the clangour of a metropolis, and in the teeming midst of a shabby and commonplace rooming-house with a prosaic landlady and two stalwart men by my side."
-from "Cool Air"

And a favorite:

"Men of broader intellect know that there is no sharp distinction betwixt the real and the unreal..."
-from "The Tomb"

Look,
I know I'm way behind the times (3 years!!!) but I'm glad I've finally found your site. It's good to see Lovecraft up there without all the "Necronomicon is real!" Stuff. What a writer!

I'm working my way through your archives an looking forward to what I'll find.

Thankyou

Matthew
