Though from what I've read about the 1970 film adaptation, the less said about it the better. But even if this upcoming one ends up being another turd, there's always the 1945 adaptation on the radio show Suspense (which had Ronald Coleman as Armitage).

The 1970 version had its awful moments and its extremely awful moments, but I think Dean Stockwell managed to make Wilbur Whateley more sympathetic and nuanced than anyone could have expected, so I wouldn't call it a total waste. I am a full-fledged fan of Jeffrey Combs, though, so I'll have fun with this no matter what. As far as Dunwich Horror interpretations go, though, my favorite to date is the unabridged reading by David McCallum. He uses some wonderful voices in that - plus, it's a kick imagining Illya Kuryakin reading Lovecraft (and you know he did *g*).
