eldritchhobbit: (Qui-Gon/Forever on Quest)
I have a few links to share today:

* The March 2007 issue of The Irish Journal of Gothic and Horror Studies is now online, and I highly recommend it. The issue includes some excellent reviews and articles, on such topics as Dracula, Pan's Labyrinth, Fritz Leiber, and Francis Lathom. I particularly suggest Patricia MacCormack's article "Baroque Intensity: Lovecraft, Le Fanu and the Fold."

* I was remiss in not pointing out earlier Neal Stephenson's op-ed in The New York Times about how the pundits have missed the boat in understanding the phenomenon of 300: "It's All Geek to Me."

* The Libertarian Futurist Society has named the finalists for this year's Prometheus Award: Empire by Orson Scott Card, The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi, Glasshouse by Charles Stross, Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge, and Harbingers by F. Paul Wilson.
