Thanks to this trailer, I am one very happy Browncoat.

A quote for the day:

"It's worse than you know."
"It usually is."

-from the trailer, Serenity
(in theaters September 30, because no power in the 'verse can stop it)

I bet you're happy!! I need to get back to the Firefly DVDs you so generously gave me at Christmas. I've seen a couple of them, but not all. I need to sit down and watch them with my knitting. ;)

I am on Cloud 9 from this trailer. This is a fangirl's dream come true. I hope you like the DVDs; we'll have to compare notes! :) *hugs* to you!

This is a phenomenon that I don't know about, but then I am usually a couple of years behind the times. From an outsider's perspective the trailer looked kind of generic. I liked 'Define interesting.' 'Oh God Oh God, we're going to die.' But I was completely turned off by 'lets discuss this like civilized people. I'm unarmed.' *shoots him*, which made me think that I was going to be asked to sympathize with the wrong people.

Maybe I should try and find the Firefly DVDs.

I highly recommend the DVDs. I personally don't think you're being asked to sympathize with the wrong people. (After all, the man who was trying to be "civilized" was sent to murder a young girl whose brain had been invaded and altered against her will. He was, in effect, an assassin and a number of other awful things.) The series itself is quite complex and meaty; I used it in a class this past year on intellectual history (on Frederick Jackson Turner's frontier thesis), and I've already been contacted by students saying they are planning to reunite to watch the film together. So that made me smile! :)
