eldritchhobbit: (Re-Animator/Weird)

Happy birthday to the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] euclase! May you have many happy returns of the day, my friend.

I have a couple of links to share:

* Will Hart has posted Lovecraft's Providence, From a Different Angle, a visual record of "Providence and Beyond at the Time of H.P. Lovecraft’s Centennial in 1990." You can see all the pictures here on Flickr.

* The grandson of C.M. Eddy, Jr. -- an early genre author who was a close friend to H.P. Lovecraft and Harry Houdini, among others, and frequent writer for Weird Tales and various pulp magazines -- has collected his grandfather's classic stories and is making them available in new collections, The Loved Dead and Other Tales and Exit into Eternity: Tales of the Bizarre and Supernatural. Here's an article about the first of these collections: "Pulp-Era Horror is Resurrected in Book of Tales." (Also available is a volume of the Eddys' previously published recollections about Lovecraft: The Gentleman From Angell Street: Memories of H.P. Lovecraft.) For more information, see Fenham Publishing's website.

* And just for fun: Doctor Who cakes. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aging_aglea.)

"Whilst August yet wears her golden crown,
Ripening fields lush- bright with promise;
Summer waxes long, then wanes, quietly passing
Her fading green glory on to riotous Autumn."
- Michelle L. Thieme, "August's Crown"
