Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] alex_beecroft, and best wishes for many happy returns of the day.

Thanks to everyone who has visited my new website. I greatly appreciate it!

I have some links to share today...

* Blogging Along Tobacco Road has an interview with the excellent science fiction poet Ann K. Schwader (a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] ankh_hpl) here. Be sure to read her choices for her three favorite poems.

* Dan Harm's recent Lovecraftian lecture at Treadwell's bookshop in London, entitled "Necronomicons: The Scariest Book in the World," is now available for download as an MP3 file here. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gbsteve.)

* Lauren Baratz-Logsted offers a defense of adults reading young adult books at BiblioBuffet: "Betwixt and Between: YA in an Adult World."

* Librivox.org's "Short Ghost and Horror Collection 3" is now available, and it includes readings of short stories by the likes of Edgar Allan Poe, H.G. Wells, William Hope Hodgson, Algernon Blackwood, and others.

"He was hidden in the nascent
emerging buds of the
lilac branches, singing his
ornate, urgent, compelling song
to the back of the hall
to the ladies, to the heavens
letting the world hear his
beautiful, erudite trill
shared in joy,
piercing the momentary gloom
of the gentle spring rain."

Thanks for the shout out! You do realize, however, that many SF people -- I hope -- who visit this site will not be expecting haiku. Sort of like what M. Python said regarding the Spanish Inquisition . . .

How did I miss that you have a new website?!? Congratulations! It looks great!

Thanks for the heads up about Ann Schwader's interview. I really enjoyed reciting her poetry for the StarShipSofa and didn't realize she had her own blog. That's where I'm headed now...
