Pumpkin Carols

Does anyone remember the Peanuts Pumpkin Carols book? It was orange and shaped like a pumpkin (the Great Pumpkin, as the Peanuts characters would say), and it was full of Halloween "carols"/filks. Ah, the memories.

My quotes for the day come from some of these songs.

Beneath the moon, all is glist'nin--
A real scarey sight; we're happy tonight.
Waitin' in a pumpkin wonderland!
In the patch, we're watching for Great Pumpkin;
We've been waiting for this night all year.
For we've tried to be nice to everybody,
And to grow a pumpkin patch that is sincere!!!
Later on, while we're eating
What we got trick-or-treating;
We'll share all our sacks of Halloween snacks;
waiting in a pumpkin wonderland!!

We used to sing from that book in music class when I was a kid, actually. That and Old John's Bone (who hasn't?). I remember trying to copy the pictures in that book, though, rather than sing (go figure).

Cool. What a nice dose of memories. :-)
