"The whole world as the Village?"
Apr. 21st, 2009 10:12 amPrisoner fans, check this out! BrokenSea Audio has a new audio drama based on the Shattered Visage graphic novel, which picks up the story of The Prisoner years after the series' conclusion. I quite liked the graphic novel (which I posted about previously here) and how it explained the final episode of the series and the ultimate fate of Number Six; thus far, I am three installments into the audio drama, and I'm really enjoying it. You can download it here or via iTunes under "BrokenSea - The Prisoner."

* Jo Walton interviews one of my favorite authors, Lois McMaster Bujold, about her Vorkosigan saga here at Tor.
* My neurologist's treatment proved to be made of epic fail, so I'm moving on to a new plan of attack for the recent health issues affecting my vision. Apologies if I continue to be slow to reply, but I'm still rather under the weather.
Number 2: What in fact has been created? An international community. A perfect blueprint for world order. When the sides facing each other suddenly realise that they're looking into a mirror, they'll see that this is the pattern for the future.
Number 6: The whole world as the Village?
Number 2: That is my dream. What's yours?
Number 6: To be the first man on the moon.

Date: 2009-04-21 05:55 pm (UTC)I had that for a while, but fortunately mine was as simple as not Taking Advil whenever I had a headache. Often it caused me rebound headaches. I haven't taken Advil in several years now and I've not had nearly as many headaches.
I have a question. Does Shattered Visage stand on its own, or should I try to find The Prisoner before I listen. ^_^ It sounds very interesting.

Date: 2009-04-22 12:37 pm (UTC)Shattered Visage is primarily meant to give closer to The Prisoner - it plays off of key lines from the series, and draws in a number of characters and symbols without explanation - so it probably would make a lot more sense if you've seen the series (which, to be honest, I think is the finest television series ever made). It's available on DVD. Then again, it might do if you just read some in-depth synopses of the seventeen episodes via Wikipedia or one of the fan sites. It's currently being remade into a miniseries starring Sir Ian McKellan and Jim Caviezel. The audio drama uses clips from the series at certain points, so watching the series might also be helpful in determining which parts are flashbacks and which parts are set in the present day. I hope this helps!
