Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] toddlyles, artist extraordinaire, and [livejournal.com profile] pktheater, con guru. May you both have a fantastic day and many, many more!

On an unrelated note, I must pause in awe; I have been the recipient of several wonderful pieces of fan fiction over the last few months. I cannot thank the authors enough for their generosity in writing and sharing these terrific stories:

"The Last" by [livejournal.com profile] queenbamfie (The Professionals)

"Justifying the Means" by [livejournal.com profile] lady_lefaye (The Pretender)

"Vagrant" by [livejournal.com profile] syredronning (Star Trek: The Original Series)

Many heartfelt thanks to each of you!

On a further unrelated note, two thumbs up for Batman Begins. I'm glad I put it on my "must see" list.

And now, a quote for the day:

"People ask me to predict the future, when all I want to do is prevent it. Better yet, build it. Predicting the future is much too easy, anyway. You look at the people around you, the street you stand on, the visible air you breathe, and predict more of the same. To hell with more. I want better.

Hmm... Wasn't [livejournal.com profile] queenbamfie going to make an extended version...? (Not to be too ungrateful. ;-)

I'm pleased to hear you liked Batman Begins. I haven't seen it yet but just looking at that icon is reminding me there is at least one very, very good reason to go! He's so lovely.

Lovely indeed. I went in with high hopes and was not at all disappointed. Ducard could be an AU Qui-Gon quite easily, in many ways... *sigh* I do love watching Liam Neeson move, when he's allowed to pull out all the stops.
