RavenCon Schedule
Mar. 17th, 2010 09:12 amHappy birthday to
killerweasel! May you enjoy many happy returns of the day.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all who celebrate it!
* This Sunday morning I will be speaking at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Catawba Valley about what young adult dystopian novels may tell us about our generation and the next. It's a variation on my presentation from last year's WorldCon. I am looking forward to it!
* I now have my schedule for RavenCon. I know
estellye,
jamesenge,
sittingduck1313,
time_shark, and
vg_ford will be there: who else? Here's my schedule:
Friday
5pm: Media Panel: "Lost and Found" (I'm moderating this one.)
9 pm: Solo Literature Presentation (multimedia!): "The Rise of Young Adult Dystopias"
Saturday
12pm: Autograph Session/Book Signing (Note: I will have copies of The Intersection of Fantasy and Native America: From H.P. Lovecraft to Leslie Marmon Silko, Past Watchful Dragons: Fantasy and Faith in the World of C.S. Lewis, and The Magic Ring with me.)
3pm: Literature/Media Panel: "Podcasting: The Future of SF Magazines?"
4pm: Literature Panel: "Putting the Adult in Young Adult Stories"
Sunday
1pm: Media Panel: "Chuck"
3pm: Literature Panel: "Stephenie Meyer vs. J.K. Rowling: The Art of Magic vs. Pretty Vampires" (I'm moderating this one.)
Ah, March! we know thou art Kind-hearted, spite of ugly looks and threats,
And, out of sight, art nursing April's violets!
