I'm back from my travels, and I look forward to catching up with everyone.

* Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] altariel on the upcoming release of her new official Doctor Who novel, Doctor Who: The King's Dragon! Click to see the cover art and find ordering information.

* From io9: "7 New Genre Shows Coming Out This Fall." What do you think? Terra Nova and The Event sound worth a try to me. Fortunately, Chuck and Fringe will be returning, too.

It's hard to believe that tonight is the end of Lost. (It's great to reminisce by reviewing the list of all of the literary works and philosophers referenced in the series.) In honor of the final episode, here's the music video for one of my favorite Lost filk songs, "Oh Benry" by Barenaked Hurley.

Miles: [referring to Hurley's movie script] What the hell is this?
Hurley: I'm writing Empire Strikes Back.
Miles: Uh, I'm sorry. What?
Hurley: It's 1977, right? So Star Wars just came out. And pretty soon, George Lucas is gonna look for a sequel. I've seen Empire like 200 times, so I figured I'd made life easier and send him the script... with a couple improvements.

I remember Earth 2! I'm sorry that it's gone. It will be interesting to see how Terra Nova compares.

After we watched a bit of FlashForward, we determined it would probably be better viewed in several large chunks rather than a weekly basis, so we didn't keep up with it faithfully. It's a shame it didn't have time to develop fully. The premise certainly was intriguing.
