Podcasting and Hunger Games News
May. 23rd, 2011 07:03 pmHappy Monday!
New publication/podcast news! Onirismes is a bilingual webzine (English - French) dedicated to publishing short fiction and poetry that belong in the fields of speculative and fantastic literature (fantasy, science fiction, and all kinds of interstitial experiments). The first issue is now available as both a print work and a podcast here. I'm very happy to say I narrated Claude Mamier's haunting story "She in Ashes" for this debut podcast. I hope you'll listen and enjoy, as well as check out all the terrific material Onirismes has for genre fans.
Also, I wanted to follow up on my previous post about local filming of the movie adaptation of The Hunger Games. As it turns out, we were right! The Henry River Mill Village will be used for District 12. The old homes will be the homes of District 12 residents, and the abandoned general store (see below) will be the bakery owned by Peeta Mellark's father.

You can read more (and see additional pictures from the current site as it's being prepared) from yesterday's local paper here.

Date: 2011-05-25 12:13 pm (UTC)Amy, how do you feel about the casting of Lenny Kravitz as Cinna? To be honest, I'm not totally thrilled. He wasn't the Cinna I saw in my head, but I may just be biased.

Date: 2011-05-25 02:11 pm (UTC)Lenny Kravitz doesn't have the look of Cinna that I had in my head, either. I'll admit that, while I'm familiar with his music, I don't know much about his acting, though. So I don't really know what I think. The other casting has been so spot on, I'm inclined to give the filmmakers the benefit of the doubt at this point. Here's hoping! *fingers crossed*
