eldritchhobbit: (Dr. Who - Smith)
[personal profile] eldritchhobbit
Previously, I asked about your favorite Doctors of Doctor Who. (I've left the poll open, in case you want to change/add your answers.)

We're currently going back and (re)watching the DVDs for each of the Doctors from Doctor Who in chronological order. This leads me to a new question for my friends...

Which episodes/arcs are your favorites for each of the Doctors? (I'm not counting Eight/Paul McGann, because there's only one option for him, the television movie.) Thanks for sharing your picks! Please feel free to respond to as many/few of the Doctors as you wish.

[Poll #1760419]

Barbara: Well, maybe we're going to see a new side to the Doctor.

Ian: Yeah, well, he isn't getting any younger, is he? You know, it's the first time he's been asleep during a landing. Barbara, I've got an idea he's getting a bit...

The Doctor: Remember, I can hear what you're saying.

but I have to agree with your picks for the last three doctors (I haven't seen any of the earlier ones in order to have a favorite for them)

What a nice exercise!

I left Colin Baker's box empty because I really haven't seen a full episode of his episodes (and what I've seen does not impress me).

I wanted to leave David Tennant empty because I have no favorite from that Doctor.

Tom Baker and Peter Davidson were the hardest, I like most of their episodes/stories. For the Baker years I went with a favorite and mainly because it was written by Douglas Adams) but City of Death is a favorite also. I chose Time-flight because of the imagery of the Concord flying over dinosaurs.

It occurs to me, after I've answered, that it probably would have been easier to just write "all the serials with Ace" under the Seventh Doctor.

My love for Ace is fanatical and a little ridiculous. 8)

First Doctor: The Daleks

Second Doctor: Tomb of the Cybermen

Third Doctor: The Three Doctors

Fourth Doctor: Talons of Weng-Chiang

Fifth Doctor: Earthshock (mainly because Adric is killed)

Sixth Doctor: Haven't seen any.

Seventh Doctor: None, as script quality had taken a big dive by that point.

Ninth Doctor: The Moffat two-parter, which I can't recall the title to.

Tenth Doctor: Blink

Eleventh Doctor: Haven't seen any yet.

I'm slowly building up my own DVD collection. Am starting with William Hartnell, though I do have all the current New Who (Chris Eccleston on) as well as Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures (quite fun!). I haven't gotten to see nearly as many classic Who as I would like, despite being quite a fan.

Awesome! We're working on our DVD collection, too... slowly but surely! I'm amazed how many of the classic episode aren't available yet (or, for that matter, are lost! eeek!)... Happy Who-ing!

I was just thinking about which are my favorite episodes the other day! I only feel like I can vote for a favorite Christopher Eccleston episode because I've seen all of the episodes he's been in and just some or most of the other Doctors. Apparently I agree with you guys!

From: [identity profile] agentxpndble.livejournal.com
I keep not filling in the poll because you know me, I'm completely incapable of distilling my comments down to a few words. Not to mention narrowing down favorites to anything less that the top three of a half dozen categories. ;-)

But if you are going into the Pertwee run, my big squee posts from my last time through are still completely spot on: here and here
