First of all, I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! Happy belated birthday to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] febobe, with best wishes for health and happiness.

A few random notes for the day:

* The first chapter of the Serenity novelization by Keith DeCandido is now available online at the Simon & Schuster (Australia) site.

* Re: Harry Potter fan fiction, does anyone have recommendations for Arthur Weasley-centric stories?

* Publications on H.P. Lovecraft continue to appear.
- H.P. Lovecraft: A Life by S.T. Joshi, the definitive biography by the preeminent Lovecraft scholar, has been rereleased.
- H.P. Lovecraft In Popular Culture: The Works And Their Adaptations In Film, Television, Comics, Music and Games by Don G. Smith is due out any minute.
- Cult of Alien Gods: H.P. Lovecraft and Extraterrestrial Pop Culture by Jason Colavito will be out in November.

And a quote for the day:

Re: Arthur Weasley stories, I really love [livejournal.com profile] penknife's Wordless. I'm not sure if you wanted recs here or following that link, but I'm still HBP-unread so I hope it's ok to put it here. :)

Also, that quote reminds me very much of Qui-Gon!

Oh, what a lovely story! So simple and spare and insightful. I love it. I really appreciate the terrific recommendation.

It does sound like Qui-Gon, doesn't it?

with all due respect to ms dickinson (and qui-gon), the quote reminded me of The Sphinx from Mystery Men.

ROFLOL! The Sphinx! Of course.
And please, feel free to lower the tone anytime. (Nothing says high brow like George Lucas, eh? *snort*)
