We're going to give American Horror Story (because the premise is intriguing), Dark Matters: Twisted But True (science! horror! John Noble! and science!), and Person of Interest (a J.J. Abrams show with Michael Emerson, enough said, although I still hold a grudge against Jim Caviezel for that unforgivable remake of The Prisoner) a try. I thought about recording Terra Nova, too, but it promises to be a CGI-fest, so I think not.

Speaking of which, I'd love to know which TV series (renewed for the next season) my friends watch. The poll below includes the shows I follow year-round, in order of my love and devotion.

Date: 2011-09-15 09:41 pm (UTC)continuing - Doctor Who is the only one I avoid missing at all costs, NCIS, Castle, Hawaii 5-0 (even if the last two are examples of the above - watch Castle for Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal!) and Hawaii 5-0 for what's his name who was Mick St. John in Moonlight... (What I wouldn't give for another season of either of those two - Firefly and Moonlight are my two best examples of fantastic tv ended too soon)

Date: 2011-09-15 11:16 pm (UTC)Let me correct that then --
Burn Notice, Castle, NCIS, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Hawaii Five-O, NCIS:LA, Necessary Roughness....
Actually the whole slate of USA Cable's programming works for me, well, except the "legal" shows -- Fairly Legal is okay, although the lead character is exhausingly perky-upbeat, but Suits just never rang my bell.
But must sees -- Burn Notice, Castle and NCIS. The rest I can catch in varioius ways. I don't watch the original CSI so much any more: I'm a big fan of William Petersen, and just haven't "recovered" from his departure.

Date: 2011-09-21 11:09 pm (UTC)We didn't actually set out to watch 2 Broke Girls; we were watching the premiere of Two and a Half Men, which was utterly lame, and the Tivo had collected the first part of 2 Broke Girls while we were watching Men, and the teaser alone was funnier than the whole episode of Men, so we kept watching. I'm not sure if it's a keeper, but I'm willing to try another episode or two.
My MW*C roommate pimped me into White Collar and lent us the entire first season, which TODS also likes if only for the style (he loves to wear skinny retro ties et al), but we can't start watching the current eps until we get hold of the second season, which isn't out on DVD yet.
I would have added Good Eats but I recently learned that Alton is moving on to other projects. Alas!
