In the midst of a serious time, here's a moment of levity, with tongue planted firmly in cheek...

In honor of [livejournal.com profile] agentxpndble, The John Castle Gallery, and my favorite actor, and with apologies for the casual treatment (or mistreatment!) of serious screenplays, I offer Which John Castle Character Are You?

HASH(0x8b1b7e0)
Congratulations! You are Geoffrey, Duke of
Brittany, from THE LION IN WINTER (1968) You're
a device, wheels and gears.

Do you think Geoff is Ravenclaw or Slytherin? You clever, clever thing you... This is just so awesome! Thank you!

Good question! I suspect the Sorting Hat would've had to ponder on that for a moment (assuming choice is made on potential). I would give Goldman's Geoff the benefit of the doubt, though, and say Ravenclaw. It's clear in TLiW that Geoff is acting as much out of hurt as out of ambition. If he was all about greed, he wouldn't point out that it's the mention that he misses, he wouldn't ask about why indifference is all he's felt since his third birthday and first memory, and he wouldn't want so badly to belong (as well as inherit!) with his "I had your hands" speech. There's too much pathos there, and too many hints that, as Eleanor says, he's loved her all along. His hunger isn't blind gluttony - it's in some ways longing that's been casually ignored one time too many. But to have had that longing and love in the first place suggests to me that there's something redeemable, or once redeemable, there, more brains (Ravenclaw) than ambition (Slytherin). But that's just my two cents at the moment.

I'm SO glad you liked the quiz. ::happy, happy dance:: There are so many more that could have been included... then again, this doesn't have to be the only one!
