eldritchhobbit: (Lost/Locke)

I am so glad Revolution Science Fiction has added a list of new and returning genre television series this season, complete with premiere dates. Thus far, I'm only committing to watching Lost and, when it finally returns, 24, but we'll see.

In other news, yesterday I was able to catch a reading and signing by M.M. Buckner, whose new novel War Surf is now available (the third in her cyberpunk series, which began with Hyperthought, the winner of the 2004 SESFA Award for Best Novel, and Neurolink). She had a great turnout, and I was especially pleased that some of my students attended.

A quote for the day:

By "scientifiction,"... I mean the Jules Verne, H. G. Wells, and Edgar Allan Poe type of story---a charming romance intermingled with scientific fact and prophetic vision.

Jennifer Love Hewitt whispers to ghosts. Every single week. In her underwear. Um . . . sorry, I lost my train of thought.

man, if Ghost Whisperer don't sound like the winning series this season. lol.

us tragic Austn folk haven't had half of these shows. I've got to say, though, that I think the "I can see dead people" trope may have had its decade. no, really.

Don't you love the snark? :) And yes, I think you're right about the "I see dead people" bit, especially in the hands of the major networks.
