I'm a very happy height-challenged, mushroom-loving Middle-earther, as I've been invited to be a guest scholar at one of the most anticipated international Tolkien events currently in the works, A Long-Expected Party 3. I do hope to see some of you there!



Have you ever looked to the mountains and wondered what lay beyond - or even under them? Have you ever wanted to carry a sword instead of a walking stick? Then perhaps you are in need of an adventure. Take a trip to the Shire and live the adventure of a lifetime and create memories that can be retold around the fire for ages to come.

I absolutely adore how they used Tolkien's verse in that scene. Pippin's voice, the contrast with the martial images... heartbreaking.

Woo! Great to hear that you are coming :) I'm so glad that Frodo (Daniel) talked you into coming :) We've got our registration in and plan to actually pay it once the very last piece of tax paperwork comes in (been severely delayed which is annoying!). And good thing as Mr. Bilbo says we are down to a mere 29 slots left before maximum attendance. It is a pretty limited amount of 170 party-goers, but then that helps make it a small, tight-knit, and fun group :) Where you actually get to KNOW your fellow party-goers (because it's more than a con, it's a PARTY!)
