Many thanks to everyone who has participated in my poll about my annual October posts! If you haven't voted yet, the poll is still open. Please feel free to vote by commenting, as well. Thanks so much!

I'm fiendishly busy preparing for the new semester, but I wanted to point out a couple of brand new books of interest to Poe lovers.

* Beyond Rue Morgue: Further Tales of Edgar Allan Poe's 1st Detective, edited by Paul Kane and Charles Prepolec, is an anthology of new stories based around the very first mystery detective, Le Chevalier C. Auguste Dupin, created by Edgar Allan Poe. This should be fascinating.

* And from my friends Dwight MacPherson, who previously got his Poe on in works such as The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poo, and his brilliant wife Rebecca, there is Sam Smith and the Raven's Quill. I can't wait to read this one.

When troubled teen Sam Smith runs away from home he has no idea that he is destined to solve one of the greatest mysteries in American history: how did the legendary author Edgar Allan Poe really die, and where is his mysterious quill pen. On a surreal late night subway ride, Sam encounters two teens with extraordinary powers who have been sent to take him to a school deep in the heart of the city known as The Poe. There he learns to wield the power of the written word through an ancient craft called WordWeaving. But Sam is quickly thrust into a plot contrived by Poe himself to recover the Raven's Quill before a powerful enemy beats him to it and uses the missing pen's unimaginable power for their own evil ends. Check it out!

Teehee! I love the title. I plan to be thoroughly Poe-ized by your class. :) It turns out that the auditions for the choir I am trying to join end twenty minutes before the first class, so I may be sitting in a parking lot somewhere, but I will be there!

Hahaha! I do hope you enjoy it.

Best wishes and good luck to you on the audition! (Not that you'll need it, of course. I'm sure you'll wow them!) Thank you so much for making time in your busy schedule for the class. I'm so delighted you'll be there.

Thank you for these recommendations. Poe is one of my favorite authors so I look forward to looking into Further Tales of his First Detective. I think it will add a lot ot what he did not elaborate upon.

Thank you for posting about our book! Man, we lived that story for 4 months straight! I ate and slept Poe 24/7. I really hope you like it. We had a little issue with formatting, but hopefully that will be overlooked by Poe awesomeness!

Big hugs,
Rebecca and Dwight

P.S. Being "Anonymous" on this comment is slightly ironic- but you will have to read the book to find out why! ;D

Games available in most casinos are commonly called casino. In a casino game, the players gamble casino chips on various possible random outcomes or combinations of outcomes. Casino games are available in online casinos, where permitted by law.Casino games can also be played outside of casinos for entertainment purposes, some on machines that simulate gambling.
