R.I.P. Frederik Pohl (November 26, 1919 – September 2, 2013), SFWA Grandmaster, award-winning science fiction author, editor, agent, and -- most importantly -- fan, one of the architects of both the modern SF genre and the modern SF community.

The Way The Future Was by Frederik Pohl. Man Plus (2000) British

“That's really what SF is all about, you know: the big reality that pervades the real world we live in: the reality of change. Science fiction is the very literature of change. In fact, it is the only such literature we have.”
― Frederik Pohl

I'm so sorry to hear that another scifi great has left us. I haven't read a lot of his work, and the only book of his I have is "Man Plus," but, still, what a loss.
