New on Revolution Science Fiction is a long (and very funny!) review of Tolkien on Film: Essays on Peter Jackson's The Lord of The Rings.

And huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] joannindiw for writing "Lost," a lovely and haunting story based on "The Ballad of William Robinson" by Bill Mumy. I recommend it!

We will be out of state visiting my family over the next few days, but I still will be online to a degree. I wish everyone a lovely rest of the week and weekend.

The Ballad of William Robinson" by Bill Mumy

I first heard that song live at Dragon*Con back in Y2K. It rips your heart out, doesn't it?

Great melancholly tune.

And have a happy Turkey Day with the Family!

It totally rips out your heart! And to be written/sung by the very person who was/is Will Robinson makes it all the more heartwrenching!

Thanks for your good wishes - happy holiday to you, too!

Indeed. Mumy is one hell of a singer/songwriter as well.

Enjoy your visit!

That review was amusing. The book has been checked out twice at our library, which I think is pretty good for a quiet academic library. :)

I love the way you are credited with the best (that is "funny") stuff - always my favorite part of any book. I really must find a copy of this!
