Birthdays and such
Nov. 29th, 2005 09:32 amFirst of all, happy birthday wishes to
lancez. May you have a wonderful day and many, many more!
And while I'm on the subject of birthdays, I'd like to thank all of those who sent me very kind birthday wishes last week. I did indeed have a lovely day. I'm so grateful for you and your thoughtfulness!
In other news, the sites for both ORC II: The One Ring Celebration (January in Pasadena) and The Gathering of the Fellowship 2006 (July in Toronto) have been updated to include my Guest Scholar information. I hope I will see some of you at these events!

Date: 2005-12-01 04:02 am (UTC)I'm sorry I missed it on the day. Now that November is ending I am rediscovering this thing called the internet.

Date: 2005-11-30 02:59 am (UTC)I got the Magic Ring today from Interlibrary Loan...I skimmed it a bit and it looks interesting (although it looks like somebody dunked the book in water and it's growing white mold or something). I'll scan it over winter break and send it to you....

Yikes! That sounds a little creepy and a little gross. I've been known to spray Lysol on library books before. It's probably terrible for the paper, but it effectively kills the mold smell.

Fantastic! I really look forward to it. I should be online for all but about three days of the break. Thanks again!

Now, now, weren't you just globetrotting (and sending brilliant Boston terrier postcards from around the world) while I was working on conference preparations 24/7 - okay, technically 17/7 - stuffing packets and printing tickets? ;) Seriously, though, I am having fun. And I've had some of my best intellectual exchanges as a member of academic tracks at cons. So I feel privileged.
