Halloween Countdown, Day 28

eldritchhobbitToday I have a special treat for you! My wonderful husband, Larry, is a son of the Blue Ridge Mountains, an Appalachian man, and during the Halloween season he swears by the melancholy tales of death, hauntings, and mystery told via bluegrass music (or should I say "boograss" music?). As with all of bluegrass, some of these songs trace their ancestry back to older traditional ballads.
This year, he's shared with me his countdown of the spookiest, eeriest, most atmospheric "boograss" songs. (NOTE: All links go to YouTube videos for your listening/viewing pleasure.)

They do Celtic/bluegrass type music and were playing around the bonfire, as they do every year at the party. Such a great experience. Anyway, they played this awesome boograss tune about a haunting legend around the Pegram, TN area: https://myspace.com/thesecretcommonwealth/music/song/the-glowin-bones-22209036-22010221
Apparently Uncle John and a friend once did a self-guided tour through Tennessee's legendary haunted places, and he has a great story to tell about visiting Craggie Hope and seeing a red glow on the tracks....
He said at that moment he realized three things:
1. Omg it's all true.
2. We might be in danger.
3. Oh those are car tail lights.
