eldritchhobbit: (Dr. Who - Smith)

It's been a good weekend to be a geek. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was absolutely exceptional. (I'll be seeing it again this week, and then I'll post more of a review. Nutshell version: it's brilliant! Very, very well done.) And there was An Adventure in Space and Time (Mark Gatiss did it again!) and "The Day of the Doctor." Wow. We even got a new Sherlock trailer and an update to John Watson's blog.

I'm looking forward to seeing Catching Fire. And I *loved* the Doctor Who 50th. We're going to see it in 3D at the theatre tomorrow night.

And a very happy birthday to you! May the coming year be filled with blessings for you and yours. <3

I'm not usually one for 3D, but I bet "Day of the Doctor" was brilliant in it! What fun! I want to rewatch it ASAP. I'm off to see Catching Fire again today.

And thank you so much for your birthday wishes. <3

It was really fun in 3D. They played a couple of shorts before the show, one of which was on theatre etiquette by a Sontaran. They had a making-of featurette after. People dressed up in fezzes and bowties and Tom Baker scarves. The car next to me in the lot had "Bad Wolf" on its bumper. I love how everyone really gets into it!

My pleasure! I'm off to see Catching Fire again today. I'm really looking forward to having the luxury of focusing on the details, now that I know what's coming.

YAY Sherlock!

You can catch up on the Whovian goodness, yes? Everything seems to be repeating and going straight to DVD. Hope you enjoy!

(PS. The two minisodes, "Night of the Doctor" and "The Last Day," and "Five-ish Doctors" mockumentary special are online now. Give a shout if you need the links!)

To add to the DW stuff, did you see Peter Davison's "The Five(ish) Doctors"? It is amazing and hilarious. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-11-24/peter-davison-colin-baker-and-sylvester-mccoy-unite-for-doctor-who-spoof-the-fiveish-doctors (My apologies, I have forgotten how to make pretty links.)

Agree about The Five(ish) Doctors. Very funny. There is one part I find particularly hilarious but I don't want to spoil it.

Amy, I'm sure you're busy, but I am very curious about your take on the last year of Who from The Snowmen to now. What are your thoughts?
