Information is now available the 2006 meeting of The Mythopoeic Society (a non-profit international literary and educational organization for the study, discussion, and enjoyment of fantastic and mythic literature, especially the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Charles Williams).

The theme for Mythcon XXXVII is The Map & The Territory: Maps and Landscapes in Fantasy, and the conference will have a dedicated track on Native American Fantasy/Native Americans in Fantasy.

The Author Guest of Honor is Lois McMaster Bujold (who, incidentally, is perhaps my favorite living author).

The Scholar Guest of Honor is yours truly. No, I can't believe it, either. :)

The Call for Papers is available here. The conference site (still under construction) is here.

The conference will be held August 4-7, 2006 on the campus of the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, USA.

WOW! That sound you hear is me as I shriek like a fangirl. It's absolutely gorgeous! It perfectly captures the sense of both peril and enchantment. Loud applause and many thanks!!!

By the way, have I congratulated you yet on your plans to release the complete works of Francis Lathom and to offer a new hardcover series? Valancourt Books is such an exciting success story, and you should be praised early and often for what you're doing to make these works accessible and remembered. Great news all around.

Now excuse me while I go and adore this picture some more. :)
