Really, really enjoyed that HP article. It just goes to demonstrate the point I was trying to make years ago about the potential benefits of letting your children read the books even if you don't actually approve of them. There can be tremendous benefits.

YES!!!

I still use your Horn Book essay in my Harry Potter course, by the way. It's still by far the most thoughtful and well-written presentation of those ideas that I've found.
