eldritchhobbit: (Longmire)

Every year, my parents send their granddog, the fabulous Virginia, a Halloween costume for her to wear (as well as treats to bribe her to model for pictures).

This year, my brilliant parents outdid themselves, sewing and accessorizing a most remarkable costume. I invite you to behold Virginia as one of our favorite contemporary characters, Sheriff Longmire of the award-winning Walt Longmire book series by Craig Johnson and the television show it inspired.

I don't know this character, but Virginia lends her tremendous charisma to whatever character she is costumed as. I should say that she exudes considerable gravitas here......

Wonderfully done!

Aw, thank you! "Gravitas" was just what we were going for, and Virginia was cooperative as always. I'm tickled that you liked this even without knowing the character. Thanks! :)

What a wonderful costume! Virginia looks great (as usual.) And I love the trip down memory lane with all the dress-ups from the past.

LOL! I'm glad you know you shoulder some of the responsibility here. ;P Not to worry: Virginia was well compensated with treats, so she didn't really mind. As long as we called her Virginia instead of Dog, of course. *wink*

Thanks so much - for everything!!!

Seriously, Virginia is one of my favorite "online dogs" ever - I always enjoy seeing pictures of her, and here she's just darn adorable once again. Kudos to your folks for making their granddog such a hit.

Thank you so much! She's so patient with her silly humans - especially when she knows she'll be compensated with treats when all's said and done. ;)

Awww. She is so patient! She knows how to model, too. Our dogs just try to eat the "toy" we're all playing with, though Succotash does love his winter sweaters. (Ninety pound dog in a sweater... very silly.)

THANK you so much for the recommendation to read the Longmire series. I read almost all of them in rapid succession last January and February during that bizzare cold winter. Now, on to two or three more this winter, plus some short stories. ;)

Thank you! :) She really is amazingly patient with her silly humans.

I'm delighted to hear that you read and enjoyed the Longmire books, too! That makes my day. I just finished the new collection of short stories (Watch for Signs) and loved it. All credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] ankh_hpl, who convinced me that reading the books wouldn't diminish my enjoyment of the TV series inspired by it. I never go show-to-books; I always read the books first, and then sometimes, maybe, I'll check out the show. But I fell in love with the TV series within minutes of the first episode (without realizing it was based on novels), and I only made it to the books with [livejournal.com profile] ankh_hpl's kind reassurances. I'm so glad I did! I'm ready for the next book now. :D
