I have to admit, I've never read any of her books. But Happy Birthday, anyway, Daphie! (I couldn't resist. *g*)

My favorites of hers are the Gothic Rebecca (which has been adapted to film many times, including by Hitchcock) and the dark, psychological time travel novel The House on the Strand. Brilliant reading!
