Recommendations and Thanks
Dec. 27th, 2005 08:42 amI'm back!!! Huge thanks to all of you who sent such lovely cards and holiday wishes. I hope all of you had and are having a restful and joyous season.
I have two recommendations to share:
thrihyrne has posted a heartbreaking new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince story as a holiday gift for me. It's called "Ever More Tightly Bound" (see my shiny new matching icon?) and it's a remarkable study of Snape and Dumbledore. It revisits the scene Dumbledore mentions in "Horcruxes" about Snape taking care of him when he returned to Hogwarts after destroying Marvolo's ring, and I highly recommend it. Huge thanks to
thrihyrne!
agentxpndble has posted the gorgeous wallpaper she made as a birthday gift for me, matching images of my favorite actor (John Castle, of course!) with J.R.R. Tolkien's "I Sit and Think" verses from The Lord of the Rings. You can find it at the bottom of the John Castle Gallery's Wallpaper Page. Tremendous thanks to
agentxpndble!
I am behind on LJ, email, and snailmail, but I will be catching up ASAP. Best wishes to all!
A quote for the day:
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Date: 2005-12-28 04:31 am (UTC)And thank you so much for recommending the story. I just wanted it to be something you'd want to read- I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it, and that it's being shared among some people who might not otherwise be flocking to my LJ. :)
