publication notes
Dec. 28th, 2005 08:08 amHappy belated birthday to
saccage. Congrats on turning twenty-one, and best wishes for a wonderful year to come!
A few notes...
* My article "The New Shoggoth Chic: Why H.P. Lovecraft Now?" appears in the December 2005 issue of Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest, which is on newsstands now and also available here. This piece explores what I'm calling the "Lovecraft-Tolkien connection." The issue also includes an interview with one of my favorite authors, Mary Doria Russell.
* My newest update to my "Attack of the 5'2" Woman" column, "New Year's Resolutions for 2006," is now up at Pop Thought. The teaser on the main Pop Thought page offers a warning: "You don't have to be a geek to have these goals for 2006, but it helps."
* Speaking of publication news, congratulations to the wonderful
beledibabe on her excellent short story "Rear View Murder" in Chesapeake Crimes II! I just received my copy yesterday (Thank you!!!), and I thoroughly enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the others. I recommend it to all of those who enjoy a good mystery.
A quote for the day:
For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
~T.S. Eliot, "Little Gidding"

Date: 2005-12-28 03:52 pm (UTC)Now, *that* I can do! Why, just this weekend I *demanded* that my cousin bring me a shrubbery! In response, he called out his killer bunnies to chase me from his home. (My God, those squeaking bunny slippers are *terrifying*, aren't they???)
And congrats on being published!
